Position: Research Assistant Required education: College degree or equivalent experience

Job Description
• Gathers data, prepares reports or summarizes information.
• Performs research activities by utilizing computer software to obtain and manipulate data. Specific knowledge of SPSS and Excel are required.
• Reviews data, records and files for detail and accuracy.
• Enters data into a computer system and retrieves, corrects, or deletes previously entered data.
• Organizes and conducts surveys and/or studies.
• Other tasks as assigned.
• Conducts literature reviews
• Assist with office management activities (e.g. answer phones, order supplies, etc.)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
KNOWLEDGE OF THE FOLLOWING CONTENT:
• research methods, techniques, and/or sources of information
• basic statistics and how to perform them (frequencies, chi-square, t-test, anova, correlations)
• how to access and use research literature databases
• statistical sampling, modeling and analysis techniques (optional)

SKILLS / ABILITY TO:
• evaluate information against a set of standards
• organize information in a clear and concise manner
• read and interpret statistical results from average journal article
• compile, code, categorize, calculate, tabulate, audit, verify, or process information or data
• communicate information and ideas clearly, and concisely, in writing; read and understand information presented in writing
• summarize journal articles
• write a concise and well formulated review of literature
• find, gather and collect information or data
• operate a computer
• assist in training community leaders in data collection
• interact effectively with clients in answering questions and providing information
• monitor or track information or data
• speak clearly, concisely and effectively; listen to, and understand, information and ideas as presented verbally
• follow written and/or oral instructions
• demonstrates initiative
• Writes drafts of material for publication and presentation.
• Reports on status of research activities.
