Duties And Responsibilities
The researcher creatively uses varied information to improve the program and to communicate results to staff, clients, and funders. Under the supervision of the Research Director and in collaboration with other program leaders and staff, provides essential input into research designs and into how research findings can improve the quality, efficiency, efficacy, and reach of program offerings. The researcher works closely with staff in sales/marketing, client relations, and online
instruction to provide key program stakeholders with high-quality analyses and syntheses of quantitative data about participant demographics, program function, and program outcomes. Recommends, advises in the development of, and regularly updates materials that broadcast important findings and program highlights (e.g., through web pages, powerpoint slides, fact sheets). The researcher also oversees quantitative and survey-related data collection and dissemination within the program aimed at program improvement. Drafts and edits material, including data graphics, for reports and for internal and large-scale presentations; guides other staff in analysis, interpretation, and sometimes presentation. Required Education, Experience And Skills
Basic Requirements: Strong working knowledge of quantitative research methods, including multivariate statistical procedures. Experience with measurement, reliability, and validity. At least two years' experience with data management; at least intermediate knowledge of XL and XL formulas; at least intermediate use of syntax for quantitative data management and statistical analysis (preferably SPSS). Strong organizational skills. Familiarity with survey methods. Excellent communication skills; demonstrated writing ability. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. Ability to meet deadlines; strong attention to detail.

("Duties and Responsibilities" continued): Designs and maintains large-scale databases and advises other staff in data processing. Coordinates efforts to ensure comparability of data collected from various sources, courses, semesters, and languages. Takes a leading role in the design, development, testing, and administration of surveys and other psychometrically-sound research instruments, which may include classroom observation protocols and performance assessments. Analyzes data using univariate and multivariate methods and sometimes qualitative methods. Works with Research Director to ensure compatibility of all aspects of
research process with requirements of the University's Institutional Review Board. Additional Requirements, (Preferred): Familiarity with qualitative research methods, program evaluation, K-12 teaching, and online learning. Familiarity with Spanish and/or Chinese a plus.
