Search Institute

The research director will serve on the Search Institute's Senior Management
Team, develop and lead major research projects, supervise the research
staff, maintain research partnerships, and participate in projects that
integrate the institute's research agenda with applied partnerships, tools,
services, public communication efforts, and community innovations.

The director is expected to embrace and contribute to the institute's
intellectual capital related to:

. Developmental Assets, thriving, spiritual development, and related
approaches;
. Engaging young people, parents, and other adults as change agents in their
communities; and
. Transformation of schools, youth-serving systems, and other institutions
to be attentive to young people's healthy development.
The ideal candidate will have the requisite credentials coupled with an
eagerness to collaborate with researchers, communicators, practitioners, and
others in setting the direction for a dynamic, innovative organization that
is working toward a vision of a world where all young people are valued and
thrive.

Qualifications
. Doctorate and demonstrated expertise in a research-related field, such as
educational psychology, developmental psychology, sociology, or human
development.
. At least 10 years of experience in quantitative or qualitative research in
related content areas.
. At least 5 years of supervisory and management experience in a research
environment.
. Strong data analysis and writing skills leading to peer-reviewed
publications.
. A demonstrated record of successful fundraising and grant management for
research projects.
