Minimum Experience/Education Candidates must possess a Master's Degree in social science, higher education, psychology, or a related field. The ideal candidate will have experience with and knowledge of student learning outcomes assessment in higher education; strong written and verbal communication skills; and experience and/or education in research design, data analysis and reporting. Because the Assistant Director will perform a variety of tasks with a range of audiences (faculty, staff, administrators and students), candidates must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to multi-task.

The Office of Assessment in the Division of Undergraduate Academic Programs, North Carolina State University, seeks a full-time professional to oversee the assessment activities of the units in the Division, consult with faculty and staff across the university on assessment activities and processes, carry out statistical analyses of large datasets as directed, and promote the mission of the Office of Assessment.

The Assistant Director is responsible for:
1. consulting with University faculty and staff on all aspects of assessment of undergraduate student learning,
2. overseeing and coordinating the assessment activities of the Division units,
3. working collaboratively with the Director in the assessment of general education outcomes,
4. working collaboratively with the Director in the evaluation of assessment processes and activities of undergraduate programs across the university,
5. completing special analytical projects for the Dean and Associate Dean of the Division,
6. assisting with all phases of the NC State Undergraduate Assessment Symposium,
7. supervising/mentoring graduate research assistants and undergraduate work-study students,
8. other duties as assigned by the Director.
