ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR/PROFESSOR – EDUCATIONAL RESEARCH
ASSISTANT PROFESSOR – EDUCATIONAL RESEARCH

Position: The Department of Educational Psychology at the University of
North Texas seeks to fill two positions in educational research, one at the
Associate or Professor rank and the other at the Assistant rank. Both
positions are nine-month, tenured or tenure track appointments beginning
Fall 2009. Summer teaching is contingent on student demand and funding.

Rank and Salary: Associate/Professor and Assistant Professor. Salaries are
competitive, commensurate with experience and background.

Responsibilities: The successful candidates will join a productive
Educational Research faculty in the Department of Educational Psychology
within the College of Education. Instructional roles of the Educational
Research faculty include teaching introductory, intermediate, and advanced
graduate course work in research design, statistics, measurement, and
evaluation. Service on doctoral committees for majors in Educational
Research and the College of Education's other doctoral programs is expected,
as is committee participation at the department, college, and university
levels.

Academic and Professional Qualifications: Minimum qualifications include an
earned doctoral degree in educational research, educational psychology,
quantitative methods or a related field. The successful Associate/Professor
candidate should demonstrate (a) an active program of research resulting in
a current record of demonstrated publication and research and (b)
demonstrated evidence of quality teaching in methodology areas. Extramural
funding of a research agenda that would support doctoral student training
and attract well-qualified students to the program is desired. Previous
teaching experience is desirable. The successful Assistant candidate should
demonstrate a program of research in an area relevant to the position that
will result in a strong publication record and other scholarship. Extramural

with expertise in one or more of the following areas: structural equation
modeling, multi-level/hierarchical linear modeling, longitudinal data
analysis (e.g. growth curve modeling, survival analysis), categorical data
analysis, analysis of large datasets, mixed methods, or advanced research
design. Knowledge of public school assessment systems and experience with
evaluation is desirable.

The University: The University of North Texas is a student-centered research
institution with over 34,000 students. The University's strategic plan sets
a direction for continuous improvement and national recognition. UNT is
located in Denton, within the vibrant and rapidly growing Dallas-Fort Worth
area. The Department: The Department of Educational Psychology is one of
four academic departments in the college and has 21 tenured/tenure-track
faculty. Within the department there are four program areas including
Development and Family Studies, Special Education, School Psychology, and
Educational Research. Successful candidates will be able to articulate ways
that they might seek/promote collaboration with the
various program areas, primarily through research and service activities as
this is currently a high priority for the department.
