Quantitative Psychology Position

The School of Psychology at the Georgia Institute of Technology invites applications for a rank-open tenure-track/tenured faculty position in Quantitative Psychology to begin as early as August, 2008. Applicants should send statements describing their research program and teaching interests, a CV, one or two representative reprints/preprints, and three letters of recommendation to the address indicated below. Applicants should show evidence of outstanding research and teaching potential. Successful applicants will be expected to establish/maintain an independent program of research that can attract extramural support, to supervise and mentor graduate students, and to teach graduate and undergraduate courses. Salary and start-up funds will be commensurate with experience and are highly competitive.

We seek an individual with expertise in mixed or multilevel modeling with hierarchical and repeated measurements or incomplete data to complement expertise in our new Quantitative Psychology Program. We will consider professionals across a range of substantive research applications including those with interests in I/O Psychology, Engineering Psychology, Human Aging and Experimental Psychology. We are also interested in the quantification of brain imaging measures, such as fMRI. Rank is open with a preference for a junior person. Junior applicants should show evidence of outstanding research and teaching potential. Senior applicants should have demonstrated international visibility in quantitative research, a track record of external research funding, and excellent teaching skills.

The School of Psychology, located in the College of Sciences, has 21 full-time faculty and is housed in a newly renovated building that provides abundant facilities for research. The School offers doctoral training in four broad areas: Industrial/ Organizational Psychology, Engineering Psychology, Experimental Psychology (with emphases in Cognitive, Cognitive Neuroscience, Cognitive Aging, and Animal Behavior), and Quantitative Psychology.
