The Department of Educational Psychology seeks a full-time tenure-track faculty member at the assistant professor level specializing in quantitative methods or statistics. The ideal candidate will have expertise in experimental design, multivariate statistics, SEM, multi-level models and other quantitative methods of importance in educational research and evaluation. Those who also have expertise in educational measurement will be considered. We seek an individual with interest and experience in the design and analysis of experiments, quasi-experiments, or large-scale national and international education data sets who will contribute to addressing the practical challenges to quantitative analyses arising in college priorities for research relevant to educational policy, ubiquitous learning, or education in science, math or technology.

Qualifications for the position are an earned doctorate in educational psychology, quantitative psychology, statistics, or a related field.

Responsibilities: The individual will teach introductory and advanced courses in statistics, train PhD students specializing in quantitative methodologies as well as engage all students in the college (regardless of their specialized field of study) in the task of developing quantitative methodological literacy, and develop additional courses and/or seminars related to his or her own special interests and expertise. The person occupying this position will be expected to develop and maintain an active program of basic and applied scholarship in her or his area of expertise. The individual is expected to secure external funding for either her or his research program or collaborative research projects with members of the College of Education. He or she will participate in college, university, and relevant national and international professional organizations.

Salary will be competitive and commensurate with the individual’s level and experience. The position is expected to begin on August 16, 2008.
