Assistant or Associate Professor - Mixed Methods of Research

The Educational Policy and Evaluation Center (EPEC) invites applications for an assistant/associate professor level tenure-track research/teaching position beginning Fall 2008. We seek an individual with outstanding accomplishments for teaching, advising, and conducting research in qualitative-quantitative mixed methods. The successful candidate will provide leadership in the EPEC, Department, College, and University, and will maintain a research and development agenda appropriate to his or her interests, including developing proposals for external funding, overseeing project development and implementation, disseminating research through scholarly writing and presentations, teaching, mentoring graduate students, and collaborating with faculty on research activities related to the EPEC's mission. The candidate will contribute to the instructional and service missions of an academic department, where appointment, tenure and promotion will be based on the candidate’s background, expertise and interests. The EPEC is an interdisciplinary research and development unit of the College of Education and The University of Georgia. EPEC faculty, individually and collaboratively, advance research, theory and practice related to educational policy and evaluation, teacher preparation and school reform, and assessment. Required Qualifications:
Earned doctorate in a related field (e.g., research and educational measurement, qualitative analyses, statistics, educational psychology, educational policy, teacher education, learning sciences)
A commitment to working with faculty and graduate students to foster their research and scholarly programs
Credentials indicating competence in mixed methods as well as qualitative and quantitative research methods
Established program of research related to the EPEC’s mission
A commitment to developing externally funded programs related to the mission of EPEC

Desired Qualifications:
Experience in collaborative research programs with faculty and students
Teaching of mixed methods at the graduate level

Responsibilities: Successful candidates will be expected to secure grants and contracts to support engagement in scholarly research and publication related to educational policy and evaluation, teach in graduate-level programs, advise students, direct dissertations and serve on graduate student committees, consult and collaborate with faculty on mixed methods of analysis, seek external grants that will assist a grant funded center, and provide service to the university, state, and profession.
